Was the CQC meta before 1.17.0. Then Embark hit it with three nerfs at once: damage 7 to 6.5, headshot multiplier 2.5 to 1.75, and +50% per-shot dispersion. The headshot nerf is what killed it. Old Stitcher headshot TTK was insane. New Stitcher headshot only does 11.375 damage (6.5 x 1.75), making head-targeting barely worth it over body shots.

vs Canto
The Canto is the medium-ammo SMG. With Moderate ARC pen at 10.91 rps it largely obsoletes the Stitcher — handles both Raiders and ARC in one weapon, eliminating the Ferro backup tax.
